Matariki Day!

On Thursday last week we had a Matariki whanau day, which is Matariki day but with whanau from home coming to school and us showing them our learning in class. It was a big massive and busy day. We had to get a project done before morning tea which was quite hard, because some of us were doing screencastify and we had to do it in the class in front of everyone, so then we decided to do it during morning tea but that was also hard as well because we had to wait for our friends to film. It was a fun and cherish moment while filming them because we had our little laughs in between each moment they accidentally made a mistake. After morning tea though our whole school had to go across the road to thank the family members of some students who had came, we had thunk them with a kapa haka performance ( kapa haka performances. ) The order of the performances were junior syndicate, middle syndicate, senior syndicate, Te Mana Tamiriki then Te Rau Po Manawa O Kawakawa. Each syndicate/roopou had performed around 3 waiata. After the performances it was time to head back over across the road and eat the hangis that Nga Rau Rangatira and Nga Rau Puawai had prepared and made. Then after lunch we just played sports which was really fun!! : )

  1. Kia Ora Rocky. My name is Vanya I am a year 8 student from Paihia School in Te Ngahere. I have been going through your amazing work that you have been learning. I have been reading you Matariki day with your whanau. It would be cool sharing your work with your whanau because they would know what you have been learning at school. Keep up your good work.
